Pastor G. Hubert & Brenda McGarity

G. Hubert McGarity came to Alcoa-Maryville as Senior Pastor in June  of 2005. He served his denomination as a Tennessee State Evangelist and Lead Pastor in Alabama and Tennessee. While ministering in Alabama, he was elected by his peers to serve one (two year) term on the Evangelism Board and to the State Council for five (two year) terms. He served as Chairman of the Ministerial Internship Program of which he helped train over five hundred ministers and their spouses.

To Pastor McGarity, his family is very important, and he seeks to carry that same value over into an emphasis on the church, ministering and focusing on the family. Bren, his wife of thirty-five years, has been greatly involved as a partner in ministry. Her passion is to minister to children. She considers their value and worth and instills that importance into children of the church and beyond.

Pastor and Bren have two married children, Kristen and Beth Ann. Kristen and his wife, Michelle, live in Dillon, South Carolina, where they serve as Youth Pastors at the Dillon Church of God. Kristen is a graduate of Lee University, Cleveland, TN and holds a Master's Degree in Counseling from the Church of God Theological Seminary, Cleveland, TN. Kristen and Michelle are expecting the McGarity's first grandchild due in late February 2006.

Their daughter, Beth Ann was recently married to Kevin Mills, and the live in Cleveland, TN, where both are continuing their education. Beth Ann is a recent graduate of Lee University with a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and is pursuing a Master's of School Counseling Degree at Lee University. Kevin is a graduate of the University of Alabama and is pursuing a Master's of Divinity Degree from the Church of God Theological Seminary.
